The Ordinary’s Glycolic Acid 7% Exfoliating Toner is one of the most popular exfoliating toners in the world — a swipe-on glow boost loved for its results and value. It’s a water-based, exfoliating toner formulated with 7% glycolic acid, a proven alpha-hydroxy acid (AHA) that effectively exfoliates the skin. It helps remove dead skin cells, revealing a smoother, more even texture, and regular use promotes the appearance of more luminous, radiant skin while reducing the visibility of fine lines.
Glycolic acid is the gold-standard AHA. It’s arguably the most famous alpha hydroxy acid, with tons of research backing its benefits — it removes the top layer of dead skin cells to allow newer, fresher ones to emerge. What makes this toner so usable is its supporting cast: it contains aloe vera and Tasmanian pepperberry extract for soothing and skin-rejuvenating effects, and is infused with potent anti-agers including amino acids and ginseng extracts to deliver skin-repairing benefits.
The Tasmanian pepperberry keeps frequent use comfortable. It’s a plant extract that helps soothe the skin and reduce irritation commonly associated with exfoliation, making it suitable for frequent use, and the toner has a carefully calibrated pH of approximately 3.6. How to Use
Use ideally in the PM, no more frequently than once per day. After cleansing, saturate a cotton pad with the formula and sweep across the face and neck. Avoid the eye contour and contact with eyes. If you’re new to acids, start 2–3 times a week and slowly increase frequency as your skin builds tolerance. Don’t use it with other direct acids or strong retinoids in the same routine. Always follow with SPF during the day. Not for sensitive, peeling, or compromised skin.
